Wild Minder was born from my love of nature and art. Starting a handmade business had been a dream of mine for a while. Yet, I struggled to find the right spark, until the wild provided it.
The Inspiration
The journey began at Lackford Lakes in Suffolk. My partner, Tom, and I spent an afternoon capturing butterflies on camera. We chose butterflies because, with our rookie cameras, they were much easier to photograph than the far-off birds! When we got home, we reviewed our photos, and I had an idea: to paint one.

I hadn’t used real paint in years. In fact, it had been since school. Still, I’d dabbled in digital painting on and off for the last 10 years. Picking up a brush again was an absolute joy. Working with physical media reawakened my love for art. After finishing the butterfly painting, I wondered how to combine my rediscovered passion with my love of sewing. That’s when inspiration struck: I free-motion embroidered the butterfly onto a silk painting and attached it to a denim jacket. That first piece was where Wild Minder truly began.
The Foundations
Wild Minder is about more than just creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s about spreading a message—a reminder of the wonder of nature and the responsibility we all share to protect it. Our mission is to foster a sense of belonging. When you buy a product, you become a “Wild Minder.”
Paired with our slogan, “Inspired by Nature, Be the Reminder,” each piece serves as a call to action and a symbol of responsibility. By wearing one of our denim jackets or displaying a print in your home or business, you’re not just adding art or fashion to your life—you’re making a statement and inspiring others to do the same.
More than just a brand
Wild Minder is more than just a brand; it’s a movement and a community. It unites those who share a love for nature and a commitment to protecting it. I know this is a big goal. It is especially challenging for just one person. Still, when it comes to caring for our planet, every small action matters. One person can spark change, and together we can work in harmony with nature. Got an idea for a commission to spark change? Get in touch here!
