Spring is finally here! It’s all about that returning light, warmer days, and all that lovely new growth. If you’re looking for ways to shake off that “winter hibernation energy” and keep the whole family entertained over the bank holiday weekend, I’ve pulled together a few of my favorite mini-rituals to help you feel in tune with the season.

🌼 Flowers Indoors
Daffodils are the surest sign of spring, aren’t they? Why not bring some into your home to brighten things up? You can grab them from your garden, the allotment, or just pick up a bunch at your local market.
Note to self: If there are specific flowers you’re loving right now, make a note of them so you can plant the bulbs at the Autumn Equinox!

✨ The Wishing Tree
The Spring Equinox is basically the start of the new year, so there’s no better time to set some fresh intentions. We found a great stick in our back garden and turned it into a “Wishing Tree.”
We cut little egg shapes out of paper, wrote our spring wishes and intentions on them, and turned them into hanging decorations with some ribbon. We finished it off by knotting more ribbons gently onto the branches. It’s sitting in a vase in our living room now – a lovely daily reminder of everything we hope to achieve this season.

🎨 Start a New Hobby
Many people feel a surge of new energy this time of year, so why not channel it? Maybe one of your spring intentions was to try something new. You could dive into:
- Gardening or Painting
- Baking
- Customizing your spring wardrobe (it’s a great time to learn to sew!)

🥚 Painting Eggs
You can paint them hard-boiled or “blown out”- to do that, just make a small hole in the top and bottom with a pin and give it a good blow (remember to wash the egg first!). Grab whatever paints and pens you have lying around and get creative. These look fab on your wishing tree or in a bowl as a centrepiece.
Eggs have been a spring staple for centuries! They’re a sacred symbol of the spring goddess Eostre (along with hares, of course).

🍋 Lemon Pomanders
Once you’ve finished your spring clean, you can bring a fresh scent into your home by making lemon pomanders. Just decorate lemons with cloves in whatever pattern you like. The cloves actually help preserve the lemons while keeping everything smelling amazing.
🥞 Special Pancake Breakfast
Don’t let anything go to waste! If you have leftover lemons from your pomander making, use them to whip up a lovely pancake breakfast for the family.

🥧 Kitchen Witchery
I love a bit of “kitchen witchery” to feed the soul. Get down to the market for some fresh ingredients and get baking. Since spring started, I’ve been obsessed with baking sweet treats every weekend.
Honestly, it’s so much more fun than store-bought cakes and contains way fewer UPFs (Ultra-Processed Foods). My recent favourites have been Sun Cakes, scones and flapjacks. There are loads of recipes online – IMO, the simpler, the better!
🌿 A Walk in Nature
If you really can’t be bothered to bake (we’ve all been there!), just get outside. Breathe in the spring air, brush off that winter sluggishness, and take a walk. And hey, if that walk happens to involve a detour that much the better! 🤣

🌱 Planting Seeds
There’s something magical about sowing seeds. Find a little space on a window ledge for some small plants. Think of your spring intentions as you plant them; as you tend to the seeds and watch them grow, you’re tending to your own goals, too.
I’d love to hear from you, which of these rituals appeals to you most? Let me know in the comments!
