The Barnacle Talisman represents the passing of time — a symbol of the years spent living a different life, as barnacles slowly gather and grow over time.

The Selkie Story

In old tales, a Selkie sheds their seal skin to take human form, hiding it among the rocks. But when their skin is stolen, they are trapped on land, longing for the sea and the life they left behind.

As the years pass, the sea remains a constant reminder of the life the Selkie has lost. Like barnacles slowly forming over time, the years spent away from their true nature begin to gather around them.

Eventually, the lost skin is found. The Selkie slips it on, returns to their true nature, and disappears back into the sea — free once more.
